"Money is motivating, the community is supportive, and all that can come out of this is a better you!"

As a wife and working mother of two, our house is crazy busy and I always placed myself last on the priority list. After badly hurting my ankle, I was sent to a orthopedic surgeon to have surgery to reconnect the tendons in my foot, plus fix the bone spurs that were causing me a great deal of pain. As an obese mom, weighing in at 243 pounds, it was tough to manage all of this. It was at that moment that I decided to start losing weight for myself.

In February, my sister challenged me to try out this new site she had found called DietBet. Honestly, I was hesitant. I thought it was going to be the biggest joke, and I'm a bit untrusting of internet sites that I don't know. But, she pushed me hard enough that I signed up for a game that she started. The community feel of the group was incredible. Everyone was so supportive and encouraging. Everyone was rooting for one another and pushing them to get out and be fit.

In the past, I had tried so many things to get rid of the extra weight. I tried meal replacement shakes, a very low (and unhealthy) calorie restriction, counting calories, etc. The reason I believe Dietbet worked for me is because simply, money talks. I didn't want to risk losing my $25. I'm very competitive so there was no way I was losing that bet. There were days I didn't feel like working out but knowing that could make a difference between the scale budging or not made me get up and move.

The thing I liked best about the games was that everyone is cheering you on. And it's only 4% that you have to lose, based on your OWN body weight. And I love that there are restrictions that you cannot lose over 12% so it makes sure people are losing the healthy way, not trying to shed that weight all overnight.

For those looking at trying out a Dietbet, do it! Honestly, what do you have to lose? Money is motivating, the community is supportive and all that can come out of this is you trying to be a better you!
