Mike's Story

Lost 33 lbs

Won $90

""I haven’t weighed this little since high school!""

I have struggled with weight for some time. I worked as a freelance filmmaker out of college, ate poorly, lots of fast food, but was somewhat active. I changed careers in 1998 and became much more sedentary and started gaining weight.I did Weight Watchers for a while and had some success. I could drop 15-20 pounds but would gain it back pretty quickly as soon as bad habits returned. At the end of 2012, I was hanging around 300 pounds and fed up.

I was on Facebook is late August and my wife’s cousin had posted a Labor Day challenge. He had done a couple of DietBet’s with success and started his own game. That was my first Dietbet. I lost 12 lbs in that challenge and he followed it up with a Halloween challenge. I think I would stop playing over the holidays but it was too late, I was addicted to Dietbet. It works because I don’t like to lose. I will give up a lazy Sunday afternoon and go ride my bike 30 miles because I need to burn the calories. My Transformer ends in May and my final weight for that is 217 lbs. I have no doubt that is achievable.

I haven’t weighed this little since high school. I think the social aspect mixed with my desire to not lose money is why Dietbet works. 4% is a very doable monthly goal, the regular weigh-ins keep you focused, and seeing other people log their activity motivates me to keep moving. If you are serious about losing weight and want to have fun doing it, Dietbet is the way to go.

How much do you want to lose?
